Learn by Doing
We believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to cycle by cycling or fly by flying, the principle remains the same. In each it involves the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical and intellectual, to achieve what you set out to do. Regional anaesthesia is no different. We at Blockit have learnt this over the years by doing and teaching regional anaesthesia, experience they say is the best teacher. Reading , listening and observing is just one way of learning. All readings are mere references, listening just words. True experience is doing it yourself, after all even the holiest of words are only words. There are some great courses out there imparting outstanding knowledge in regional anaesthesia but not the experience of doing it on real patients. Most learning is not the result of instructions, but it’s rather the result of unhampered participation in a meaningful setting. We are truly excited to offer courses and workshops in such a setting and see learners apply the art and science of regional anaesthesia in their daily practice.
What do you get when you learn with us ? Beyond mastering advanced regional anaesthetic techniques you are helping doctors in distant countries achieve the same skills. Thank you for making a remarkable difference.
The safety of modern surgery owes much to improvements in general and regional anaesthesia, but such safety is not a situation in many developing countries. With the funds we raise from our courses we are trying to address this situation through our global free educational programme. Your learning is making a difference. With your help we have provided free seminars, lectures, workshops and in-theatre teaching to physicians in India and China. Come 2014 we look forward to doing the same in Nepal and Africa.
There are plenty of ways you can make a difference. Join us on the 22nd February for a day of focused intensive regional anaesthesia learning. Maybe you are an all-round nice anaesthetist, you could spread the word among your colleagues or could put a poster up in your department for us.
Thank you for your amazing support.
